Our Method
Think of how you learned your first language. Did you begin with textbooks? Could you read before you could speak? Could you write before you could talk? No! You listened and imitated the people around you until words had meaning and language became your own. Learning music should be no different.
We teach our students to listen and imitate until music becomes their own. We know that putting the ear at the center of focus, rather than the fingers or the mind, is the key to developing a student’s unique musical voice. Our students learn to speak the language first, then read and write until playing their instrument becomes a form of expression as natural as speech.

Our faculty members are a hand picked group of teaching musicians. We are all professional musicians and fixtures in our local music scenes all over the world.
Each Music by Message faculty member is a graduate from a top music program including NYU, New England Conservatory, Peabody, Manhattan School of Music, to name a few.
Faculty members are thoroughly vetted, interviewed multiple times, background checked and trained in our methods. They are assessed not only on their skills as musicians but on their skills as teachers. Each member has extensive teaching experience and vast knowledge of their craft. Above all, Music by Message teachers bring dedication, compassion, humor, light heartedness and support to each and every student.
